Ethernet Media Converter

The Secureye S-SMSF-GE Gigabit Media Converter T&R Combo is a pre-paired networking kit containing both the Transmitter (T) and Receiver (R) units, designed to bridge high-speed copper Ethernet networks over single-mode fiber infrastructure up to 20 km.

Because a complete fiber link requires two complementary hardware nodes working at alternate wavelengths, purchasing the pre-packaged combination is the standard approach for new installations:

• Wavelength Architecture: Employs Bi-Directional Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) to transmit and receive concurrently over one physical optical strand. The Transmitter node typically pushes data at 1310nm and listens at 1550nm, while the Receiver node reverses those frequencies.
